Sanju Samson, Tilak Varma, and Suryakumar Yadav are all out in a single over as Saqib Mahmood makes history with his triple-wicket maiden.

  • In his opening over, Saqib Mahmood got rid of India captain Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, and Sanju Samson without letting any runs slip.
  • In the fourth Twenty20 International against India at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune, Saqib Mahmood, playing his first match of the tour, took the phrase “dream start” to a whole new level by taking three wickets in his opening innings.
  • Jofra Archer’s pace and bounce bothered Samson throughout the series, so he chose to hang back and play the pull shot without looking at Mahmood, and he paid the price. Due to space constraints, he ended up giving a straightforward catch to a deep square leg for one off three balls.
  • While Mahmood took two wickets in the first two balls of his spell, India’s man-in-form, Tilak Varma, charged down the track and sliced it to the third man fielder to leave for the first golden duck of his career.
  • In contrast to Samson and Tilak, India captain Suryakumar Yadav chose to show Mahmood respect when he came in to bat at number four.
